Great Dane Extravaganza

Today we visited with Miss Jubilee and her eleven puppies again.

This has been a big weekend for them...first time going outside in the yard. Lots of new things to explore and experience :) We also tried to take some silly pictures of puppies wearing cute little cowboy hats...but the puppies and the lighting did not cooperate with that attempt.

I took quite a few pictures to share!

First of all a picture of beautiful Miss Jubi

Sniffing all the things...

This is one of the only two girls in this litter...

This big boy is especially handsome!

I love this little guy!

Merle puppy is very serious!

So serious!

Stairs are hard

So very hard...

Leaves are fun thought....

Mom is tired of puppy shenanigans!

Stairs mastered!

Picture time: The Great Dane Puppy Adventure

So sadly this year there is no litter of wiggly little basenji babies to share with everyone.

But fear not there is the most amazing, chubby, and sweet horde of baby great danes that I currently get to visit about once a week.

A friend of mine from the kennel club has a wonderfully sweet and lovely Dane named Jubilee. Jubi just had her first litter. She had 11 of the most wonderful little creatures about four and a half weeks ago.

Last night was the first visit in which I brought along the camera. They are at the point where play and interaction are happening. Unfortunately most of the pictures I have is of them sleeping. I need to bring along some lamps to set up some lighting to get action shots next time.

Here they are:

First of all...Jubilee! She is just gorgeous.

This was post milkbar, and post nail trim. The pup life is hard!

Lookit the speckled puppy!!!

Lovely baby Harlequin

Such cute!

Falling off the bed and into the litterbox...only a puppy can sleep like that.

Growing is exhausting work!

Just look at this face!!!

So many spots!

Upside down puppy...

Siblings make the best pillows...

I am seeing spots...

Fall Hiking Session

Lots of things have been happening in the life of the Curly Tails this year. Some good, some not so good, but it has kept us pretty busy! One of the downsides of that happens to be that there are fewer updates here and less time for outings to take pictures.

We had a glorious fall day outing with Laura the other day though and I managed to get a few pictures. No really awesome ones of Watson. He likes to challenge my meager camera skills...

Believe it or not, but the handsome dude in front is one of Irma's wee pups from last Winter! How they have grown...
Menchi was very happy. There was mud to roll in and water to dive through...
The two boys got along surprisingly well...Watson was even controlled and moderate in his corrections of the puppy!

"What? Is there something on my face?"
Mushrooms were everywhere...
I have a thing for neat looking seeds and seedpods,

Finally a day that was less than blazingly hot...

These last few weeks have been hot and humid. I do not do well in too much heat, so we have been hiding in the cool safety of the air-conditioning :)

This weekend luck was with us though and the heat and humidity broke and gave us a couple of days with 70 degree weather. So I packed the dogs off to the park for a good romp today.

Here are the resulting pictures...
Best girl!

Fast dog is fast!
Fast dog would also like you to know that he is handsome!
So very, very...
...very handsome!

Basenji Club Picnic 2016

Last week was the annual picnic for our local Basenji Club. We got together with the dogs and had good food and lure coursing.

Menchi comes along every year too...by now she is an honorary basenji! She certainly is most excited when she hears the lure going. She was so crazy before she got her first run she managed to pull me right of my feet at one point. I actually ended up face-planting in the dirt O.O

I forgave her once I got my breath back and she got to go on her run...after she was much more relaxed and easier to get along with.

I got more photos of the Watson for once and only one of the little Miss.

After her run she was a much calmer dog...
Watson making sure that I get his good side.
Behold my handsome!
He spend a lot of time watching all the things going on.
